For as long as I can remember I've always had a pencil, pen, or brush in my hand. As a kid, I would doodle pictures of planes and my grandfather's boat, sometimes over and over again not to get it right, but simply for the joy of conjuring a happy memory forth to inspire the drawing. In highschool, I learned to carry a great many more tools in hand until college came around and I picked up even more: chop saws, plasma cutters, welders, and blow torches. Currently I work full time as an architect pursuing my passion for art in my spare time. Art which was simply a part time hobby has been recently taking on more a more prefessional edifice and set of goals.
Am I an artist or an architect? I'm both. I'm a designer. I'm infected with the desire to create and bring my inspirations into the tangible realm of human experience. Art is the portal between my most abstract ideas and you. Architecture is my conduit that allows me to play with experience, the human psyche, atmosphere and a precious thing called 'place.' Together they compliment and encourage each other and ask the questions that take us to the really, really interesting ideas.
